Wytech has launched an online Kit Configurator that lets medical device design teams build a stainless-steel mandrel kit, customize it by therapy area, and receive a quotation without a single email exchange.
The configurator builds on the Engineering Kit program Wytech introduced earlier this year. Engineering Kits are pre-configured sets of precision stainless-steel mandrels designed to keep catheter and device development moving – giving R&D engineers a full range of outer diameters in a single order, rather than sourcing each size individually.
During early catheter and device development, teams iterate through many mandrel diameters, building and testing prototypes across a range of sizes as they iterate on catheter designs. Quoting and ordering each OD separately adds days or weeks to every design loop. Wytech’s Mandrel Kits consolidate that into a single order, and the new configurator removes the back-and-forth of specifying it.
Select a therapy area and diameter range, choose an OD increment of 0.0005″ or 0.001″, set the mandrel length (73″ standard, 12″ minimum), and choose the quantity per OD. Multiple kits can be added to a single request before submitting for a quotation.
Kits are supplied in defined OD families rather than in every diameter in between. The configurator lists the exact French sizes and outer diameters available in each therapy area:

Mandrels arrive deburred, with rounded proximal and distal ends, and are organized in a permanent storage container. Individual mandrels can be replenished later through the FastLane store without purchasing a new kit.
