Metal Tubing Capabilities

In addition to laser cutting and CNC machining, Wytech offers a variety of advanced stainless steel tube grinding and forming technologies.

Tube Forming

With the integration of additional resources into the expanded Rahway, NJ, facility, Wytech now has under one roof a host of advanced and conventional tube forming and fabrication technologies.  This includes Four-Slide, punch presses, end forming, swaging, and more. Also, Wytech’s engineering and toolmaking staff are ready to assist in the design and development process to assure maximum production efficiencies are achieved.

We offer a complete listing of tube forming features including:

  • Bending
  • End shape
  • Expansion
  • Forming
  • Flaring
  • Bulging
  • Notching
  • Slotting
  • Lancing
  • Dimpling
  • Swaging
  • Skiving

Flaring

Tube flaring is the process of tube end forming to create a tight seal. Flaring creates a funnel shape at the tube’s end so it exactly matches the dimensions of whatever the tube is to be fitted against.

  • Max flare + flange ─ 1.5x tube OD; OD flaring with tubing starting as small as 30 Ga (0.0120″)
  • Equipment ─ Vaill end formers, Wauseon end formers, and more

Skiving

Tube skiving, also known as scarfing, is the process of cutting metal material off in slices. Skived tubing is often used in catheters and other applications where guide wires exit the shaft of the tube.

Swaging

Tube swaging is the process of reducing the outer and inner diameter of a tube. Swaging is generally used in the medical industry, as well as in industrial and aerospace applications.

  • Reduce tubing sizes, pencil points, and more
  • OD as small as 25 Ga (0.0200″)

Expansion / Reduction

When you need sound, thin-walled tubular parts, expansion and reduction is the process used to achieve that. We use quality, precision machines that are built to provide defect-free products, quickly.

  • Maximum expansion ─ 1.5x tube OD
  • Equipment ─ Vaill end formers, Wauseon end formers, and more

Stainless Steel Hypotube Grinding

In the medical device industry, precision components are essential. Making sure that accuracy in measurement is strictly maintained, as well as providing a wide range of products and services, are both important factors when choosing a grinding company. When you choose to work with Wytech, you can rest assured that we will adhere to your exacting specifications to provide you with quality components.

Wytech’s proprietary point grinding systems offer burr-free electrochemical point grinding that provides fast set-up and fast changeover times while creating varying grind angles for needle sets.

Needle Styles include:

  • Back Bevel
  • Bias Grind
  • Diamond Point
  • Menghini
  • Razor Edge
  • Stylet
  • Tri Facet Lancet
  • Trocar
